KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A former Osceola County substitute teacher accused of inappropriately touching several students was expected to be in court Thursday, but he refused to appear.

The judge granted a continuance in Syed Asher’s case. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for April.

Asher was arrested earlier this year after nearly a dozen students at various elementary schools across the county accused him of molestation.
