KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The penalty phase is set to start at 9 a.m. in an Osceola County courtroom for a man convicted of killing two Kissimmee police officers in August 2017.
On Monday, lawyers and the judge discussed what can and can’t be discussed during the penalty phase for Everett Miller.
A jury will soon have to recommend if Miller should get life in prison or the death penalty. He was convicted in September in the fatal shootings of Officer Matthew Baxter and Sgt. Sam Howard.
The judge has allowed victim impact statements to be read during the penalty phase, though parts of it must be altered and or redacted.
