Charges are pending against an Orlando man after witnesses said he was racing another vehicle on U.S. Highway 192, when he crashed, killing his passenger.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, Wilfredo Lanzo-Torres, 32, of Orlando, was driving a 2016 BMW westbound on U.S. 192 at about 6 a.m. Witnesses told troopers that he appeared to be racing another BMW westbound, when he lost control of the car.
Torres’ car left the roadway and the right side hit a tree. Torres’ passenger, John Viera Santana, 27, of Orlando, was pronounced dead on scene.
