A man suspected of carjacking an Uber driver at a Millenia-area apartment complex in December has been arrested on several felony charges, records show.
Damon Tavarious Miller, 28, was booked Monday evening into the Orange County Jail on charges of carjacking and aggravated assault with a firearm, tampering with a witness to hider communication with law-enforcement and third-degree grand theft.
He was being held without bail Tuesday morning.
According to an affidavit, the carjacking happened about 9:30 p.m. at the Woodhollow Apartments on Kingsgate Drive, after a woman there summoned an Uber car to pick her up.
As the woman approached the car, a man later identified as Miller confronted her armed with a black firearm, telling her to go home, the affidavit said. Miller then pointed the gun at the Uber driver, ordering him to exit the car, detectives said.
According to the affidavit, Miller made the Uber driver log out of the iCloud account on his iPhone and leave it behind. Also in the car when it was stolen were an iPad and the driver’s wallet.
