Home-grown college players see Saturday successes

Georgia Tech offensive lineman Parker Braun and Virginia defensive lineman Jordan Redmond (pictured above), both Osceola High alums, faced off on Nov. 17, with Georgia Tech taking the 30-27 win. Braun was named an Atlantic Coast Conference First-Team All-Conference selection on the offensive line.

Other Osceola County football alums made plays last Saturday for their teams. Two Gateway products, defensive back Isaiah Wharton made a key fourth-down tackle for Rutgers in their game against Michigan State, and Florida State defensive lineman Dennis Briggs, Jr. appeared in the Seminoles’ game against the Florida Gators.
