ORLANDO, Fla. —
The city of Orlando will soon own The Plaza Live after council members approved a proposal to buy the building for $3 million.
Soon the iconic building will be renovated and become the newest city-owned venue.
The Plaza Live on Bumby Street is one of the best places in town to watch live music.
Officials in Orlando said it’s the third biggest venue in Central Florida and a landmark since the 1960’s when it was The Rocking Chair Theater.
Mary Palmer, president of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra board, said the building needs a lot of work.
